What better way to end our six-month-long experiment with screening films in off-beat locations around Dallas than with Giuseppe Tornatore’s Cinema Paradiso, a movie that celebrates the joy of watching movies? And what better location to see Cinema Paradiso then in one of Dallas’ most treasured historic movie houses, The Texas Theatre, which is rising from the ashes of neglect to emerge as the city’s only truly independent art house. Join us on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. for the film, which will be introduced by Dallas actor Diana Sheehan. You know you’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to check out the Texas Theatre. Here’s that opportunity. Come help us roll the credits on our Film Series. Please RSVP on the form after the jump if you would like to attend. Did we mention it was free? See you there.

  2. As a native Texan and fan of Italy, I wanted to say thanks for last night’s screening of Cinema Paradiso!

I can’t imagine a more fitting location to view this great film ~ the historic and symbolic parallels between the movie and the venue… I will not forget them.

Thanks for sharing this experience with Dallas (D Magazine) and for picking it (Diana)!
