This Week’s 5 Best Art Gallery Openings and Events

(FEATURE) Cocktail Reception for Nathan Green at The Goss-Michael Foundation – May 28, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 1405 Turtle Creek Blvd. Dallas, TX 75207.

Nathan Green is the first artist to be featured in the Goss-Michael Foundation’s new “Feature” exhibition series, which shines the light on significant contemporary artists who make their home here in North Texas. That kind of platform has already proved efficacious. Since Green’s work opened at Goss-Michael he has been picked up by London’s HUS Gallery, and curators from London’s Tate Gallery and White Cube Galleries have, apparently, shown interest in his work. Which is great for Green, but it proves a larger point about the effect the support Dallas’ big collectors can have on artists’ careers.

Webb Gallery’s first show since returning from the Outside Art Fair features paintings by Esther Pearl Watson as well as vintage and contemporary sign artists.
