Extended Temporalities: Jin-me Yoon at Pollock Gallery – March 20, 5 p.m. 3140 Dyer Street, Dallas, Texas 75205.

With photography and video that documents the artist crawling across cities or presents subjects obscured against painted backdrops, Korean-born, Vancouver-based artist Jin-me Yoon’s explores the influence of urban environments, globalized economies, and the fabricated landscapes on individual identity and contemporary life.

Much of Rebecca Carter’s work uses ephemeral or delicate materials to explore the fragility of memory and the effects of time on relationships or notions of self. In this latest solo show at RE Gallery, Carter has employed a process called “sleep mapping” to collect scientific and poetic data which is then translated into thread drawings.

Not only will Jeff Gibbons, Gregory Ruppe, and Justin Ginsberg be improvising a five hour soundtrack at the closing of this exhibition at CentralTrak, but the trio of artists have issued an open call to anyone who wants to bring an instrument or noisemaker and join in.
