The guys down at the Texas Theater get it. What do they get? They get that Dallas is an uptight, self-conscious city that takes itself too seriously and needs to learn how to laugh at itself. Laugh at the Arts District. Laugh at the irony that despite generations of self-calculated image marketing, an assassination of an American president put this city on the map. Laugh at the fact that the JFK stamp was only overshadowed by a primetime soap that stereotyped the city’s oligarchy in such bombastic, lampooning fashion that it would have been funny if only the caricatures didn’t hit so close to home. And so, what does the Texas Theater do? It launches a Dallas marathon to celebrate TNT’s revival of the city. Awesome.
Every Sunday, two full episodes will be screened back-to-back until the entire 16-season series is complete. By “interactive,” they mean costumes and speakers: Guests are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Dallas character and vie for prizes that include free tours and a hotel stay at Southfork Ranch and Southfork Hotel.

I have a white 1982 Mercedes SL 500 convertible, and I think I remember seeing one of the Ewing women drive this car on the show, so that will be my “costume.”
I love this, especially because the math is hilarious. According to my calculations, screening every episode (14 seasons, not counting the 3 movies) at two episodes per week equals almost 3 1/2 years.
