You know who just missed out on the art steal of the week? You and I. That’s because photographer Allison V. Smith, who has a great show up at Barry Whistler right now, was selling an edition of 10 photographs from her new Maine series on the website/charitable art exchange collectdotgive.org. The site asks photographers to sell work, and then the proceeds from the sale go to a charity of their choice. Smith chose the West Oak Cliff-based artists residency program, La Reunion. Unfortunately, all 10 of the prints sold, so your chance at grabbing a Allison V. Smith work for under 100 bucks is no more. But at least La Reunion gets a cool $750 thanks to the artist.
