La Reunion, Sarah Jane Semrad and company’s artists residency program/etc., has announced its fourth annual Art Chicas program, a juried competition that commissions four female artists to create new work on La Reunion’s  land in Oak Cliff. The program is a collaboration between La Reunion, Dallas Art Dealers Association, Deaf Action Center, and Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. From Semrad:

In addition to a stipend and materials budget, artists are also given a small group of four apprentices to help her to complete her work.  Apprentices come from area high schools, Girl Scouts, Deaf Action Center, Buckner International and more.  Dallas Women’s Foundation provided the seed funding in 2007.  Proposals in all media considered.  Deadline for proposals is Sept 3.
