James Faust

The dropping of the AFI prefix to the Dallas International Film Festival wasn’t the only major change heading into the 2010 edition. James Faust, formerly the festival’s director of programming, was promoted to artistic director, meaning he is largely responsible for shaping the focus and scope of the festival’s content. I sat down with Faust in advance of tonight’s opening gala to talk about his vision for the future of the Dallas International Film Festival: post AFI life, its national and international niche, and the plans for year-round programming.
